Mozzarella Dippers
Ingredients:
1 lb mozzarella, cut into sticks
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 large eggs, beaten
2 cups breadcrumbs
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp dried oregano
Salt and pepper, to taste
Oil, for frying
Marinara sauce, for dipping
Directions:
Cut the mozzarella into sticks about 3 inches long and 1/2 inch thick.
Place the flour in a shallow dish, the beaten eggs in another, and the breadcrumbs mixed with garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, salt, and pepper in a third dish.
Coat each mozzarella stick first in the flour, then dip into the eggs, and finally coat with the breadcrumb mixture, pressing lightly to adhere. Repeat for a double coating.
Heat oil in a deep fryer or a heavy-bottomed pot to 350°F (175°C).
Fry the mozzarella sticks in batches for 1-2 minutes or until golden and crisp. Drain on paper towels.
Serve hot with marinara sauce for dipping.
