Garlic Toast Sloppy Joe Melts
Ingredients:
1 lb (450 g) ground beef
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup ketchup
1/4 cup mustard
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp brown sugar
Salt and black pepper to taste
8 slices of garlic toast (store-bought or homemade)
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Directions:
Prepare the Sloppy Joe Mixture:
In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet, cooking until the onion is soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.
Stir in the ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 10-15 minutes, until the mixture is thickened.
Assemble the Melts:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Place the garlic toast slices on a baking sheet.
Spoon the sloppy joe mixture evenly over each slice of garlic toast.
Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top of the sloppy joe mixture.
Bake and Serve:
Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
