Ingredients:
Ground beef: 1 lb (450g)
Olive oil: 2 tablespoons
Onion: 1, finely chopped
Garlic: 3 cloves, minced
Crushed tomatoes: 1 can (28 oz)
Tomato paste: 2 tablespoons
Tomato sauce: 1 can (15 oz)
Diced tomatoes: 1 can (14.5 oz)
Italian seasoning: 2 teaspoons
Sugar: 1 teaspoon
Salt: 1 teaspoon
Black pepper: 1/2 teaspoon
Red pepper flakes: 1/4 teaspoon (optional for a little heat) Fresh basil: Chopped, for garnish
Spaghetti: 1 lb (450g), cooked according to package instructions
Parmesan cheese: Grated, for serving
Instructions:
Cook the Ground Beef:

In a large skillet or pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it apart with a spoon, until browned and cooked through. Remove excess fat if necessary.
Sauté the Vegetables:
Add the chopped onion to the beef and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
Add Tomatoes and Seasoning:
Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, tomato sauce, and diced tomatoes. Mix well. Add the Italian seasoning, sugar, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Stir to combine.
Simmer the Sauce:
Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for at least 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. The longer it simmers, the more the flavors will meld together.
Serve:
Toss the cooked spaghetti with the sauce until well coated. Serve hot, garnished with freshly chopped basil and grated Parmesan cheese. Enjoy a comforting and hearty meal with family and friends!
