Chicken Lo Mein
Ingredients:
8 ounces lo mein noodles or spaghetti
2 tablespoons sesame oil
1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, thinly sliced
1 cup sliced mushrooms
1 cup shredded carrots
1 cup snow peas
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tablespoons oyster sauce
1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
1 teaspoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
2 green onions, sliced
Sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions:
Cook noodles according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
In a large skillet or wok, heat sesame oil over medium-high heat.
Add sliced chicken to the skillet; cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-6 minutes.
Stir in mushrooms, carrots, snow peas, and minced garlic; cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until vegetables are tender-crisp.
In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, sugar, and red pepper flakes.
Pour the sauce over the chicken and vegetable mixture; toss to coat evenly.
Add cooked noodles to the skillet; toss until well combined and heated through.
Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
Notes :
Feel free to add other vegetables like bell peppers or broccoli for extra crunch and flavor.
For a vegetarian option, substitute tofu for chicken and vegetable broth for chicken broth.
