Honey Garlic Chicken Bites
These Honey Garlic Chicken Bites are juicy, tender, and coated in a sticky-sweet glaze with the perfect hint of garlic. They’re easy to make and are great as an appetizer, snack, or main dish! Ingredients:
• 1 1/2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
• 2 tbsp cornstarch
• 1/2 tsp salt
• 1/4 tsp black pepper
• 2 tbsp olive oil
• For the Honey Garlic Sauce:
o 1/3 cup honey
o 1/4 cup soy sauce (low-sodium preferred)
o 4 cloves garlic, minced
o 1 tbsp rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)
o 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for a little heat)
o 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water (for thickening)
• For Garnish (optional):
o 1 tbsp sesame seeds
o 2 tbsp chopped green onions
Directions:
1. Prepare the Chicken:
o In a large bowl, toss the bite-sized chicken pieces with cornstarch, salt, and black pepper until evenly coated.
2. Cook the Chicken:
o Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
o Add the chicken pieces in a single layer and cook for 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally, until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
3. Make the Honey Garlic Sauce:
o In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant (be careful not to burn the garlic).
o Stir in the honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and red pepper flakes (if using). Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for 2-3 minutes.
4. Thicken the Sauce:
o In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with water to create a slurry.
o Add the cornstarch slurry to the simmering sauce, stirring continuously until the sauce thickens and becomes glossy, about 1-2 minutes.
5. Coat the Chicken:
o Return the cooked chicken bites to the skillet and toss them in the honey garlic sauce until they are fully coated and heated through.
6. Serve and Garnish:
