Crispy Fish Tacos with Cilantro Lime Slaw
Ingredients
For the Crispy Fish:
1 lb white fish fillets (such as cod or tilapia)
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/2 cup cold sparkling water
Vegetable oil (for frying)
8 small corn or flour tortillas
For the Cilantro Lime Slaw:
2 cups shredded green cabbage
1 cup shredded purple cabbage
1/4 cup finely chopped cilantro
Juice of 2 limes
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1 tbsp honey
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
Instructions
or the Crispy Fish:
Prepare the Batter:

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Whisk in the cold sparkling water until smooth.
Fry the Fish:
Cut the fish fillets into taco-sized strips. Heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat.
Dip each piece of fish into the batter, letting any excess drip off, then carefully place it into the hot oil.
Fry the fish for 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
For the Cilantro Lime Slaw:
Prepare the Slaw:
In a large bowl, combine the shredded green cabbage, purple cabbage, and chopped cilantro.
In a separate small bowl, whisk together the lime juice, mayonnaise, honey, salt, and black pepper until smooth.
Pour the dressing over the cabbage mixture and toss to combine. Set aside.
Assemble the Crispy Fish Tacos:
Warm the Tortillas:
Heat the tortillas in a dry skillet over medium heat for 20-30 seconds on each side, or until warm and pliable.
Assemble the Tacos:
Place a piece of crispy fish on each tortilla. Top with a generous portion of cilantro lime slaw.
Serve immediately with lime wedges for squeezing over the tacos.
Serve:
Serve the crispy fish tacos with extra lime wedges, hot sauce, or avocado slices for an extra burst of flavor.
