Savory Turkey and Cranberry Crescent Ring
Ingredients:
– 1 tube crescent rolls
– 4 oz chive and onion cream cheese, softened
– 1 ½ tbsp Dijon mustard
– 3 tsp finely chopped fresh rosemary or thyme (divided)
– 2 cups shredded Gruyere cheese (divided)
– 1 lb thinly sliced turkey (leftover or deli)
– 1 (14 oz) can whole berry cranberry sauce
– 2 tbsp butter, melted
– ½ tsp poppy seeds
– ½ tsp granulated garlic
– ¼ tsp salt (adjust to taste)
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Roll out the crescent dough, separating the triangles, and arrange them in a circle on the baking sheet, with the wider ends overlapping in the center to create a ring shape.
3. In a small bowl, mix the cream cheese, Dijon mustard, and 2 tsp of the rosemary or thyme.
4. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the wide ends of the crescent rolls. Sprinkle half of the Gruyere cheese over the cream cheese mixture.
5. Layer the sliced turkey over the cheese, followed by spooning the cranberry sauce on top.
6. Sprinkle the remaining Gruyere cheese over the cranberry sauce.
7. Fold the narrow ends of the crescent dough over the filling and tuck them under the wide ends to form the ring.
8. In a small bowl, mix the melted butter, remaining rosemary or thyme, poppy seeds, granulated garlic, and salt. Brush the mixture over the top of the crescent ring.
9. Bake for 18-22 minutes or until the dough is golden brown. Allow to cool slightly before slicing and serving.
