Crispy Chicken Wings
Ingredients:
For the Chicken Wings:
2 lbs chicken wings, split into drumettes and flats
1 tbsp baking powder (aluminum-free)
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp smoked paprika
For the Sauce (Optional):
1/2 cup hot sauce (like Frank’s RedHot)
4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
1 tbsp honey (optional, for sweetness)
Instructions:
For the Chicken Wings:
Prepare the Chicken Wings:
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) or prepare your air fryer.
Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels. This will help achieve maximum crispiness.
Season the Wings:

In a large bowl, combine the baking powder, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika.
Add the chicken wings to the bowl and toss until they are evenly coated with the seasoning mixture.
Bake or Air Fry the Wings:
Oven Method: Place the wings on a wire rack set over a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 40-45 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the wings are golden brown and crispy.
Air Fryer Method: Arrange the wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Air fry at 400°F (200°C) for 20-25 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until the wings are crispy and fully cooked.
For the Sauce (Optional):
Make the Sauce:
In a small saucepan over low heat, combine the hot sauce, melted butter, and honey (if using). Stir until well mixed.
Toss the Wings:
Place the crispy wings in a large bowl and pour the sauce over them. Toss until the wings are evenly coated.
Serve:
Serve the Chicken Wings hot with ranch or blue cheese dressing on the side for dipping. Garnish with chopped green onions or celery sticks for a classic presentation.
