Sloppy Joe Garlic Bread
Ingredients:
For the Sloppy Joe:
1 lb ground beef
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 green bell pepper, finely chopped
1 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon mustard
Salt and pepper to taste
For the Garlic Bread:
1 large loaf of Italian bread, sliced in half lengthwise
4 tablespoons butter, softened
2 cloves garlic, crushed
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
Directions:
Prepare the Sloppy Joe: In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef, onion, and green bell pepper until meat is browned and vegetables are tender. Drain any excess grease. Stir in garlic, ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 20 minutes until thickened.
Prepare the Garlic Bread: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Mix butter, crushed garlic, and parsley. Spread evenly on each half of the Italian bread.
Assemble: Spoon the Sloppy Joe mixture over the garlic bread halves, spreading evenly.
Bake: Place the loaded bread on a baking sheet and bake for 10-15 minutes until the bread is crispy and the topping is bubbly.
Serve: Cut into slices and serve hot.
