Influencer Natalia Cavanellas dies during cosmetic surgery

Influencer Natalia Cavanellas suddenly died in the middle of a cosmetic procedure.

Citing the São Paulo Public Security Secretariat, CNN Brasil reported that the 40-year-old suffered a cardiorespiratory arrest during her operation in Sao Paulo.

Edgar Lopez, the doctor who performed the surgery, told the media outlet that Cavanellas “underwent an elective surgical procedure, performed in a suitable hospital setting, with all preoperative examinations completed in accordance with safety protocols and medical monitoring.”

“Unfortunately, the patient developed a serious complication, compatible with pulmonary embolism, a rare event, but recognized in the medical literature as possible, even with all the preventive measures adopted,” he said, noting that his experience spans more than two decades and that he has always acted “with ethics, responsibility, and dedication.”

Cavanellas’ husband Rafael Thomazella, with whom she shared a daughter named Manoella, announced her passing in an Instagram post showing their love-filled family pictures.

“We all know what a great woman Natalia was—a beautiful, independent, super professional, happy woman, among so many other qualities,” he wrote, adding that while she has left them, she will “forever be in our memories and our hearts.”

“We have been married for a few years and the fruit of that marriage came our daughter, Manoella, who is the greatest gift I have ever received in my life,” he said.

Thomazella shared how their daughter is a lot like Cavanellas. “She’s very communicative, I think she pulled her mom into everything, and today I saw how good that was,” he continued. “I will always tell Manoella how her mother was an amazing woman, the kind of person that everyone loves, admires, and will always keep her alive in our memories.”

Per CNN Brasil, the police tagged her case as a “sudden death,” though an investigation on her passing is still ongoing.

Cavanellas garnered thousands of followers on Instagram, where she posted content about networking and strategic positioning. She was also an entrepreneur.
