Kelsey Grammer set to become a dad for 8th time at age of 70

Kelsey Grammer is preparing to become a father once again. The Frasier star, 70, is expecting his eighth child, as his wife Kayte Walsh, 46, was recently spotted in London cradling a prominent baby bump during a family outing.

While the couple has not made an official announcement, the pregnancy was confirmed by a source who shared that the news has brought renewed energy to their relationship.

“Kelsey is thrilled to finally have time to fully enjoy being a father all over again,” the insider told Daily Mail. “He’s been incredibly supportive of Kayte throughout this pregnancy, which, though unexpected, has reignited a spark in their marriage that they both needed.”

This marks the fourth child for Kelsey and Kayte, who married in 2011 after meeting in 2009. The couple already share three children: daughter Faith, 12, and sons Gabriel, 10, and Auden “James” Ellis, eight.

The Emmy-winning actor also has four children from previous relationships: Spencer, 41, with his first wife Doreen Alderman; Greer, 33, with ex-girlfriend Barrie Buckner; and Mason, 23, and Jude, 20, with former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Camille Grammer.Grammer, best known for playing Frasier Crane on Cheers and its spin-off Frasier, most recently reprised the role in a reboot of the iconic sitcom. With that chapter closed, he’s now turning his focus toward family.

“After giving Frasier one last go, he has hung his hat up on that character and is ready for the next phase of his life,” the source added. “He is looking forward to embracing the hands-on parenting he missed in the past.”

In a May interview with PEOPLE, Grammer reflected on his evolving role as a father and expressed regret over missing out on earlier parenting moments. “I have neglected a couple of the kids in my life, especially the first two. I’m trying to make up for a little of it now,” he said. “I’m still their dad, so you can always have [a] chance to show up.”

He also acknowledged that his approach to parenting has changed over the years. “I probably should have been a little more clear and maybe less tolerant with the older ones,” he said. “I’m pretty tolerant with the young ones, but I’m clear about expectations… I tell them, ‘What’s your job in life? Showing up.’”

Despite the pressures of fame and a large blended family, Grammer says he’s proud of his children and the paths they’re taking, especially those interested in following his footsteps into the entertainment world.

“To think that all my kids, at least the ones that have a hand in the air, are ready to take responsibility for their lives and are all drawn to this industry, that’s something to be proud of,” he told Variety.

Now, with baby No. 8 on the way, Kelsey Grammer is entering yet another chapter; one filled with late-night feedings, school drop-offs, and the kind of presence he admits he once lacked but now fully embraces.
