Rapper 4xtra ‘loses fingers’ in Fourth of July fireworks accident after making sick joke in video

Rapper and No Jumper podcast host 4xtra joked about “blowing somebody up” with fireworks on the Fourth of July — only to have them explode in his own hand hours later.

On Friday, July 4, 4xtra – co-host of the No Jumper podcast – posted a video on social media holding unlit fireworks, joking: “Who wants to get blown up today?… I’m blowing somebody up today,” per the Independent.

In another clip, he boasted: “Dead homies, who wants to get blown up today. Stop playing, you see these,” he said, rolling two fireworks, one red and one tan, in his hand.

“I’m throwing them in your house. I’m blowing them at ya.”

“Off the bat,” he screamed, just as the video ended.

Hours later, the joke turned into a terrifying reality.

A post from No Jumper’s X account stated the rapper had “reportedly blown off his hand with a firework,” accompanied by a graphic image of his injury circulating online.

However, Adam Grandmaison – known as Adam22 and owner of No Jumper – clarified the extent of the damage, posting on X: “I’m hearing that 4xtra only lost 2 fingers, not the whole hand. Also, he was blind for a few hours, but apparently his vision is back.”

4xtra, whose real name is Resan, has not yet publicly commented on the extent of his injuries, but his sister Emily launched a GoFundMe to help cover his medical expenses.

The fundraiser page reads: “On the 4th of July, 4XTRA was injured in a firework accident. As many of you know, medical care can be incredibly expensive and add up very fast.”

Emily described her brother as: “Someone who lights up every room with his humor and energy. If you’ve ever laughed with him, shared a moment, or simply care about his well-being.”

“Any support-from donations to prayers or even just sharing this-means the world to us.”

As of this writing, more than $7,600 has been raised.

According to the Pew Research Center, over 45,000 people visit the ER on July 4 and 5 every year, making Independence Day the holiday with the highest number of medical emergencies in the US.

4xtra became one of the hosts of the No Jumper podcast in January, but the platform has faced recent turbulence. In April, Adam22 announced layoffs, saying: “First, we lost the No Jumper Instagram.

“After almost 10 years of building it up and essentially no strikes on our account, we got taken down one day, and we still have absolutely no idea why.”

He also addressed legal issues with a former employee: “It’s insane to me that a person that we did so much for can just invent some grievances out of thin air and cost us this much money.”

Despite setbacks, Adam22 noted he felt “pretty happy” about changes within the company and remained confident that No Jumper would be in “a pretty solid financial position again as a business.”

We wish 4xtra a speedy recovery.
