Billie Eilish isn’t one to let a mass unfollowing faze her—especially not when it comes to her art and honesty.

The singer recently responded after losing 100,000 Instagram followers in just one hour, all because of a drawing she shared on her Instagram Story.
Back in 2020, during a “post a picture” challenge, Eilish was asked to post “a drawing you’re really proud of.”
Instead of going with something safe or expected, she uploaded an image that featured various nude female figures along with snakes. Her caption read: “These probably lol I love boobs.”

The reaction was swift. Tens of thousands of followers clicked the unfollow button shortly after the post went live, reportedly offended by the content.
But Eilish, known for being outspoken and unapologetic, didn’t hesitate to fire back. She posted another Instagram Story in response, simply writing: “LMFAOOO y’all babies smh.”

The 23-year-old has never shied away from expressing herself—whether it’s through her lyrics, interviews, or social media presence.
Since emerging on the scene in 2015 with her breakout track ‘Ocean Eyes,’ Eilish has racked up an enormous fan base. She now boasts over 124 million followers on Instagram alone.
Her boldness extends beyond drawings. In a previous interview with Rolling Stone, Eilish discussed her favorite way to decompress. She said: “Sex.” She added, “I basically talk about sex any time I possibly can. That’s literally my favourite topic. My experience as a woman has been that it’s seen in such a weird way.”
Despite the blowback over her drawing, Eilish’s reaction showed she isn’t interested in censoring herself to please others. With Grammy, Oscar, and BRIT Award wins under her belt, she’s proven that authenticity resonates, even when it challenges people.
This isn’t the first time Billie has faced criticism, and it likely won’t be the last. But if her response is anything to go by, she’s more focused on staying true to herself than keeping follower counts intact.
