Cheesy Sloppy Joe Garlic Bread Bake
Ingredients:
For the Sloppy Joe Mixture:
1 lb ground beef
1 small onion, finely chopped
1/2 green bell pepper, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup ketchup
1/4 cup tomato paste
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
For the Garlic Bread Base:
1 loaf French bread, cut in half lengthwise
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions:
For the Sloppy Joe Mixture:
Cook the Beef:
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef until no longer pink, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess fat.
Add the chopped onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook for 3-4 minutes, or until the vegetables are softened.
Prepare the Sauce:
Stir in the ketchup, tomato paste, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Reduce the heat and let it simmer for 10 minutes until the mixture thickens.
For the Garlic Bread Base:
Prepare the Garlic Butter:
In a small bowl, mix together the softened butter, minced garlic, and chopped parsley.
Assemble the Bread:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the French bread halves cut-side up on a baking sheet.
