Fans spot glaring mistake in Meghan Markle’s first Instagram post after launching her own account

Meghan Markle uploaded her first post after starting a brand new Instagram account, but fans have been quick to point out a mistake.

On Wednesday, Markle, 43, launched her new Instagram account under the handle @meghan, signaling a fresh chapter for the former actress and royal.

Markle’s profile gained a verification tick less than 24 hours after her post went live.

She also updated her profile photo to a black-and-white image of herself smiling in a white dress.

According to reports, Markle had set up the account in June 2022 but left it dormant until now.

Her re-entry into the social media space comes years after she deactivated her personal accounts upon her engagement to Prince Harry in 2018.

Before stepping back from royal duties in 2020, Markle and Harry shared an Instagram account, @sussexroyal, which they retired after relocating to the United States.

The post that has caught attention was filmed by her husband Prince Harry, 40, and features Markle running along a scenic beach near their Montecito home.

Dressed in an all-white ensemble, she writes “2025” in the sand before flashing a smile and darting off camera.

While the video delighted many of her 750,000 followers, some fans noticed a subtle gaffe.

At the start of the clip, Markle is seen heading toward the water to carve “2025” into the sand.

However, observant viewers spotted another “2025” already written nearby, suggesting that the final cut was not her first attempt.

Comments are turned off on the Instagram post, but people took to X to voice their thoughts.

“Meghan Markle had to practice 2025 more than once,” one person said, as another added: “Am I the only one that sees 2025 to the left of her before she writes it…again. I guess she praticed first. Looks like maybe an A in rocks as well.”

A third person voiced a fair point: “I’d practice too if I had the same level of public scrutiny as Meghan.”

Earlier in December, Markle and Prince Harry shared some new snaps of their kids to celebrate the Christmas season.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex shared a Christmas e-card on Monday (December 16), which included the lovely message: “On behalf of the office of Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Archewell Productions and Archewell Foundation. We wish you a very happy holiday season and a joyful new year.”

The festive card contained several pictures highlighting the wonderful year the former royals have had, from their official engagements in Colombia to their most recent trip to Nigeria.

The couple also delighted their supporters with a lovely snap of Archie, five, and Lilibet, three – neither of whom have been photographed in public for years.

The picture showed the kids facing away from the camera and running towards their parents, who greeted them with smiles and outstretched arms.
