Adult entertainer Riley Reid, known off-screen as Ashley Matthews, has been candid about the challenges her career poses to personal relationships.
Her husband, Latvian free runner Pasha Petkuns, recently shared his perspective on their marriage and the scrutiny they face.
In a conversation with Adam22 on the No Jumper podcast, Petkuns recalled his initial uncertainty about Reid’s profession: “At first, it was like, ‘Oh, like is it normal? Not normal?'” A friend’s advice helped him find clarity: “No matter what you’re gonna do, people [are] gonna tell you you’re stupid.”
Petkuns described his family as open-minded, noting that his mother prioritizes his happiness. He remarked, “It’s not like my wife has killed anyone,” emphasizing that Reid’s past in adult entertainment isn’t a significant concern for them.
Addressing Reid’s current work, Petkuns clarified that she had left the mainstream adult industry before their relationship began. She now creates content for her online platform, collaborating exclusively with women.
While most of Petkuns’ social circle has been supportive, he mentioned that two friends expressed disapproval and unfollowed him on social media. Beyond that, he hasn’t encountered much negativity.
Reid has also spoken about the potential impact of her career on their child. She acknowledged: “It’s definitely a real fact that my career will affect my kid at some point in some degree, and it is up to me as a parent to try and coach it in the most appropriate manner possible.”

In an April appearance on the Shadow Banned podcast, host Jackson O’Doherty asked Reid to share her thoughts on how she became such a widely recognized name in the industry.
Reid said: “I think it’s just like I’m relatable and I smile in my videos,” she said.
She went on to note that her natural, approachable demeanor made her performances stand out.
