Matching the ambiance of the glitzy affair, the blonde-haired beauty donned a sparkly, long-sleeved gown featuring a bold cutout, which left her back exposed, and a daring slit on one side.

After completing last-minute checks with her team and following an introduction by a presenter, Kate sauntered onto the Christmas-themed stage as the audience cheered loudly for her.

Some people reminded the public of Kate’s familial history with music by bringing her famous father Bill Hudson into the mix. “Her father was a singer,” mentioned a Facebooker, while another noted“Her Dad is one of the Hudson Brothers (who is a singer) she sounds great. I used to watch the Hudson’s [sic].”

As the fans correctly pointed out, Kate’s dad, Bill, who is also an actor, is widely recognized as a musician who used to be a vocalist in a group called The Hudson Brothers.

However, Kate’s father is not the only parent she had to look up to regarding her music journey, as her iconic mother, Goldie Hawn, has created music in the past as well.

While Goldie is best recognized as an actress who has starred in legendary films such as “The First Wives Club,” “Death Becomes Her,” and “The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band,” in 1972, she released a self-titled album, “Goldie,” featuring 11 songs, which are streamable on Spotify.

With two parents who have both built successful careers as actors and artists, it’s no wonder where Kate acquired her entertainment talents.

In September, Kate spoke about her relationship with acting and music during a conversation with Tom Power on his show “Q with Tom Power.”

After Tom asked her about the moment she knew that entertaining felt good to her, Kate divulged, “I mean, I could be performing for nobody. It’s like singing, I could sit at that piano by myself and have one person in here and be like the happiest person on the planet.”

“There was never a question that I wanted to be on stage […] even before I knew what my parents really did, or my father did,” added the singer.

Although Kate made mention of her other creative interests, like fashion and makeup, she veered back toward how drawn she has always been to performing.

“In my mind, I was a performer from when I was […] like my daughter’s age. I can see it in her. You can see it in certain kids. They’re just drawn to it in a way that […] it must be in the DNA,” shared Kate.

Later on in the same interview, Tom asked Kate what made her want to start making music on her own. She responded with, “Well, I’ve always made music, I’ve just never shared any of it because I was too scared.”

Kate clarified that her fears stemmed from her views of how music is “the most honest” form of creative expression.

She went on to explain that although acting also requires extreme vulnerability, one at least always has the opportunity to “hide behind someone else’s words or someone else’s vision,” barring people who are directors or producers.

“There’s something about writing your own music and putting it out into the world and hoping that it’s received warmly, or at least like, gently, and it’s […] always gonna be highly critical, and so, you’re really putting yourself out there,” disclosed Kate.

She then spoke about how her meteoric success as an actress, which happened at a young age, created somewhat of a block for her to pursue music when her career was going in a different direction at that time.

“But music was always — that was always my number one and then I think it just started to become this thing where I just started to get too afraid to put it out there […] I think that if I put something out at that time in my life and had like […] real rejection […] I think it would have been really, really hard for me,” admitted Kate.

After reflecting during the lockdown period of the pandemic, Kate realized how important it was for her to put her music out into the world.

“It felt like I jumped off the Grand Canyon, but fell on a beautiful pillow, and it was like […] ‘I love this. I wanna jump again!'” she explained regarding how it felt to confront her fear and release music.

Prior to the interview with Tom, Kate sat down with Jimmy Fallon, where she spoke about the then-upcoming release of her debut album, “Glorious,” which took two and a half years to create.

After Jimmy asked Kate how she felt about the accomplishment, Kate replied, “It’s like too much to explain […] It’s the greatest feeling. I love music. I’ve loved music my entire life.”

She continued, “It was my first love, and I’ve been writing music my whole life, and I just thought it was something I’d only have for myself until Covid, and then I was like, ‘Wait, I don’t know — I’ll regret not just putting it out in the world,’ and so I did.”

Kate and Jimmy also spoke about the mix of genres included on the album, like rock, soul, and a bit of country. “Glorious,” which has 12 songs and is available on Spotify, came out on May 17.

In the same month she spoke to Jimmy (May 2024), Kate Hudson conducted another interview with “Today,” where she spoke about her experience writing music with her partner, Danny Fujikawa, which she highlighted as a very special moment for her.

Speaking on her work experience with him, Kate divulged, “He is an incredibly talented musician and honestly, I feel privileged, and he’s very quiet, and to himself […] But working with your partner is interesting cause you have moments where you’re like, ‘No,’ and then moments where he really kind of would step in front and say like, ‘I think this is best for the song.'”
