Ribeye Steak with French Onions and French Fries
Ingredients:
For the Ribeye Steak:
2 ribeye steaks (about 1 inch thick)
Salt and black pepper, to taste
2 tbsp olive oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 sprig fresh rosemary (or 1/2 tsp dried rosemary)
For the French Onions:
2 large onions, thinly sliced
2 tbsp butter
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
For the French Fries:
4 large russet potatoes, peeled and cut into fries
2 tbsp olive oil
1/2 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp garlic powder
Salt, to taste
Instructions:
Prepare the French Fries:
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
Toss the cut potatoes with olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, and salt.
Spread the fries in a single layer on a baking sheet.
Bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until crispy and golden brown.
Cook the French Onions:
Heat butter and olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
Add the onions, sugar, salt, and pepper.
Cook, stirring occasionally, for 20-25 minutes until the onions are caramelized and golden brown.
Cook the Ribeye Steaks:
Season the steaks with salt and black pepper.
Heat olive oil in a skillet over high heat.
Add the steaks and sear for 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare (or longer if desired).
Add minced garlic and rosemary to the skillet during the last minute of cooking.
Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
Serve:
Plate the ribeye steaks with a generous portion of French onions on top.
Serve alongside the crispy French fries.
