Steak Sandwich
Ingredients:
For the Steak:
2 ribeye steaks (about 200g/7oz each)
2 tbsp olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste
For the Sandwich:
4 slices of crusty bread (such as ciabatta or sourdough)
4 tbsp mayonnaise
1 tbsp Dijon mustard
1 cup (100g) shredded lettuce
1 tomato, sliced
1 onion, thinly sliced
4 slices of cheese (optional, such as Swiss or cheddar)
Directions:
Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Season the steaks with olive oil, salt, and pepper.
Cook the steaks for 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until your desired doneness. Let them rest for a few minutes before slicing.
While the steaks are resting, toast the bread slices until golden brown.
In a small bowl, mix the mayonnaise and Dijon mustard
Spread the mayonnaise mixture evenly over the toasted bread slices.
Layer the shredded lettuce, tomato slices, and onion slices on two of the bread slices.
Slice the steak into strips and place on top of the vegetables. Add cheese slices if using.
Top with the remaining bread slices to form sandwiches. Serve immediately.
