Fried Prawns with Garlicky Hot Pepper Sauce

Ingredients:
1 lb large prawns, peeled and deveined
2 tablespoons cornstarch
Salt and pepper to taste
Vegetable oil, for frying
For the Sauce:
4 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
1 tablespoon honey
1 teaspoon hot chili flakes
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
Fresh cilantro, chopped, for garnish

Directions:
In a large bowl, season the prawns with salt and pepper, then toss them in cornstarch until evenly coated.
Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Fry the prawns in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the pan, for 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
In a small saucepan, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute. Stir in the soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, and chili flakes. Simmer for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens

 

slightly.
Pour the hot sauce over the fried prawns and toss to coat evenly.
Garnish with chopped fresh cilantro before serving.
