Crispy Baked Honey Garlic Chicken
Ingredients:
**For the Honey-Garlic Sauce:**
– 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch chunks
– 2 large eggs, beaten
– 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
– 1/3 cup honey
– 2 tablespoons soy sauce
– 1 tablespoon Sriracha sauce
– 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
– 1/3 cup warm water
– 1 tablespoon cornstarch
**For Serving:**
– 2 green onions, thinly sliced
– 2 teaspoons sesame seeds
Directions:
1. **Preheat the Oven:** Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a large baking sheet or cover it with parchment paper.
2. **Prepare the Chicken:** In separate shallow dishes, place the beaten eggs and panko breadcrumbs. Dip the chicken pieces into the eggs, shaking off the excess, then coat them in the breadcrumbs, pressing to adhere. Place the coated chicken pieces on the prepared baking sheet.
3. **Bake the Chicken:** Bake the chicken in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes, or until golden brown and crisp.
4. **Make the Honey-Garlic Sauce:** While the chicken is baking, prepare the sauce. In a medium saucepan over medium-high heat, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, Sriracha, and garlic powder. In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with warm water, then
stir this slurry into the saucepan. Cook the sauce, stirring frequently, until it thickens, about 1-2 minutes.
5. **Combine and Serve:** Once the chicken is done baking, pour the honey-garlic sauce over the chicken pieces and gently toss to coat. Serve immediately, garnished with sliced green onions and sesame seeds, if desired. For a complete meal, serve over rice or with a side salad.
