Vanessa and Donald Jr.: From Mar-a-Lago to Divorce
Vanessa and Donald Jr. were first introduced in 2003 at a fashion show by Donald Trump Sr. Their initial meeting was brief and unremarkable, but they crossed paths again about six weeks later at a birthday party in New York. That second encounter led to a more meaningful connection, and soon after, they began dating.

They married on November 12, 2005, at Mar-a-Lago, Trump Sr.’s estate in Palm Beach, Florida. The venue had also hosted Trump Sr.’s wedding to Melania earlier that same year. Throughout their marriage, Vanessa and Donald Jr. and their five children appeared together frequently, particularly during Trump Sr.’s growing involvement in national politics.

After more than twelve years together, Vanessa filed for divorce in March 2018 at Manhattan Supreme Court. The case was filed as an uncontested proceeding, which indicated there would be no legal disputes regarding custody or division of assets.

In a public statement at the time, the couple expressed mutual respect and emphasized that their five children remained their top priority. Reports suggested that the couple had been leading separate lives well before Donald Sr.’s presidency.

Sources close to them offered mixed reactions — some noting strain in the marriage, while others were surprised by the split, describing the pair as close and good-humored.

Despite ending their marriage, Vanessa and Donald Jr. continued to share family moments, especially involving their children. In the years that followed, it was their eldest daughter, Kai, who first drew national attention through a high-profile public appearance.

Kai Madison Trump: A Public Debut and Family Pride
Born on May 12, 2007, Kai Madison Trump is the eldest child of Vanessa and Donald Jr., and the first grandchild of President Trump. As a child, she was hands-on at home; Vanessa once shared that Kai eagerly helped care for her younger brother Donnie.

She would mimic her mother’s breastfeeding routine and use a burp cloth to copy everything she did. Now 17, Kai is an avid golfer and frequently showcases her skills on social media. In August 2024, Golfweek reported that she had committed to play for the University of Miami and would join the team in the fall.
Her passion for golf has been supported by both parents and in March 2024, Donald Jr. shared photos from a spring break ski trip, writing, “Daddy daughter ski trip for spring break. Could not be having more fun with @kaitrumpgolfer.”

Kai gained national attention in July 2024 when she delivered a speech at the Republican National Convention. Speaking before a televised audience, she said, “I am the granddaughter of Donald Trump. I’m speaking today to share the side of my grandpa that people don’t often see.”

“To me, he’s just a normal grandpa. He gives us candy and soda when our parents aren’t looking. He always wants to know how we’re doing in school. When I made the high honor roll, he printed it out to show his friends how proud he was of me,” she continued.

She went on to share personal anecdotes, including how President Trump would call her during school hours to ask about her golf game, forgetting she was in class. She added, “When we play golf together, if I’m not on his team, he’ll try to get inside of my head… but I have to remind him I’m a Trump too.”

Addressing the July 2024 assassination attempt on her grandfather, she said, “On Saturday, I was shocked when I heard that he has been shot and I just wanted to know if he was okay. It was heartbreaking that someone would do that to another person.”
She closed her speech by calling Trump Sr. “an inspiration,” adding, “He truly wants the best for this country, and he will fight every single day to make America great again.” In May 2024, Donald Jr. celebrated her 17th birthday with a post featuring a series of family photos through the years.
He wrote, “Happy 17th birthday to the most beautiful, smart, amazing young [woman] ever (top 2 with Chloe) my daughter Kai. I am obviously very objective in this assessment. Kai you make me proud every day and are kicking ass in life. I love you so much.”
On February 16, 2025, Kai was photographed alongside Woods arriving at The Genesis Invitational golf tournament in La Jolla, California, with Vanessa Trump and Tiger Woods.

One of their most enduring traditions is the annual North Carolina boys’ hunting trip, which Donald Jr. has attended with his sons for eight years. In December 2023, Donald Jr. posted a series of photos from the latest trip.

“North Carolina annual boys hunt. This has become an annual tradition with me and my boys for 8 years and this year definitely didn’t disappoint. Great food, even better friends and insane memories,” he wrote in the caption.

Donnie turned 16 in February 2025, and to mark the occasion, Donald Jr. posted family photos spanning from Donnie’s early childhood to the present. Several family members appeared in the images, and in the caption, Donald Jr. wrote, “Happy 16th Birthday to my biggest little man. Donnie I love you and I’m very proud of the young man you’re becoming.”
Like Donnie, his younger brother Tristan also shares a love for the outdoors and often joins in on family adventures, especially those centered around fishing and sports.
Tristan Milos Trump: Outdoors and On the Field
Tristan Milos Trump, the third child of Vanessa and Donald Jr., was born on October 2, 2011. Like his older brothers, Tristan enjoys spending time outdoors and often joins his family on fishing trips and other nature-based outings.
For his 12th birthday in October 2023, Donald Jr. shared a collection of photos of Tristan over the years, including one of him celebrating with a football-shaped cake decorated with a Tampa Bay Buccaneers flag.
Alongside the images, Donald Jr. wrote, “Happy birthday to my favorite 12-year-old. Tristan, a.k.a. T-man… I love you very much and hope you have an awesome birthday buddy. I’m very proud of the young man that you’re turning into. Keep it up you’re the best little man ever.”
As part of a family that values tradition and outdoor experiences, Tristan’s birthdays and outings are often marked by these shared activities, much like his brothers.
Spencer, the next in line among the siblings, has also become a regular companion on these family adventures, with his own set of traditions and memorable father-son trips.
Spencer Frederick Trump: A Love for Adventure
Spencer Frederick Trump, Vanessa and Donald Jr.’s fourth child, was born on October 21, 2012, almost exactly one year after his older brother Tristan. Like his siblings, Spencer has embraced the family’s love for outdoor activities and often appears alongside his father on trips that celebrate this shared passion.
In November 2023, Donald Jr. posted photos from their annual pre-Thanksgiving trip to South Dakota, featuring Spencer. The caption read, “Me and my man Spencer. Boys trip. Pre Thanksgiving tradition in SD.” Just a couple of months earlier, in September 2023, Spencer joined his father on a fishing trip to Alaska.
Donald Jr. documented the outing, writing, “Great adventure with my little man in Alaska this summer getting them in the great outdoors and sharing that time together has just been amazing. If you can get your kids off the couch and into the woods or onto a river, you’re doing good.”
These regular adventures have become a meaningful part of Spencer’s life, reinforcing the family’s commitment to time spent together in nature.
While Spencer shares these rugged outdoor experiences with his brothers and father, the youngest sibling, Chloe, brings a different kind of energy to family activities — both on the water and on the golf course.
Chloe Sophia Trump: On the Water and the Green
Chloe Sophia Trump, the youngest child of Vanessa Trump and Donald Trump Jr., was born on June 16, 2014. At just 10 years old, Chloe has already developed a love for both boating and golf, often participating in outdoor family activities that are shared on social media.
To celebrate her 10th birthday in June 2024, Donald Jr. posted a series of photos featuring Chloe over the years. His message read, “Happy birthday Chloe. 10 years old… double digits! I love you so much and am more and more proud of you with every passing day. #birthday #birthdaygirl”
In July 2024, Chloe joined her father for a boating trip. A video clip from the outing showed her steering the boat, with Donald Jr. captioning it, “Baby Boater!!! Chloe wanted to do all the captaining today!!!” Just days later, the pair went fishing together. “Great weekend in the water with the Smurf!!!” he wrote.
Taking after her older sister Kai, Chloe is also a budding golfer. In June 2024, Vanessa shared a video of the two girls practicing their swings and called them, “My two golf super stars.” As Chloe and her siblings continue to grow, both Vanessa and Donald Jr. remain closely involved in their lives.
