Hamburger Steaks with Onion Gravy

Hamburger Steaks with Onion Gravy
Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef
1 egg
1/3 cup bread crumbs
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp onion powder
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 large onion, sliced
2 cups beef broth
1 tbsp all-purpose flour
1 tbsp butter
1 tbsp oil
Instructions:
Prepare the Meat Mixture:
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, egg, bread crumbs, black pepper, salt, onion powder, minced garlic, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.

Shape the Patties:
Divide the meat mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into oval patties, about 1/2 inch thick.
Cook the Patties:
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook the hamburger steaks for 3-4 minutes on each side until browned. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
Prepare the Onion Gravy:
In the same skillet, add butter and sliced onions. Cook over medium heat until onions are soft and caramelized, about 5-7 minutes. Sprinkle flour over the onions and cook for another minute, stirring constantly.
Add Beef Broth:
Gradually add beef broth while stirring continuously to avoid lumps. Bring the gravy to a simmer and cook for 2-3 minutes until it thickens.
Combine Steaks and Gravy:
Return the hamburger steaks to the skillet and spoon the onion gravy over them. Cover and simmer for another 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together and the patties to cook through.
Serve:
Serve the hamburger steaks hot, topped with onion gravy. Enjoy with mashed potatoes or a side of vegetables for a complete meal.
